Your family deserves to celebrate the fact that you were able to endure yet another harsh and lengthy winter. What better way to welcome warm air and sunshine than to head to the Caribbean for a spring break getaway?
The ultimate family vacation includes opportunities to take in new cultures, soak in the sun, and explore a world that you might have otherwise never known. It’s about creating memories; it’s about forming bonds that will last a lifetime.
Organizing your family adventure around your spring break – to a destination like the Caribbean – is a great way to ensure that Mother Nature will be on your side for this once in a lifetime adventure.
The Caribbean – A Destination Designed for the Whole Family
Why the Caribbean? There’s no secret that planning a successful family vacation can be a challenge. Each member of your brood has his or her own likes, preferences, and ideas of what makes a great travel experience. The beauty of the Caribbean is that it caters to virtually any person’s idea of “a dream vacation.”
From beaches to culture, great food, outdoor adventures, fun on the water and more, every member of your family can find something to fall in love with in the Caribbean. In fact, we suggest that the responsibility for trip planning should be shared by the entire family (including the children), to ensure that the trip is fun for everyone. When children are given responsibility for planning a certain day – or aspect – of the trip, they’ll be far more likely to enjoy their entire stay.
Where in the Caribbean Should You Go?
Narrowing down where in the Caribbean you should go will likely be one of your most difficult decisions. With so many wonderful, gorgeous destinations to choose from, it can be a bit overwhelming. That’s why we’re sharing with you two specific locations that we feel are ideally suited for a family spring break getaway.
Either of these destinations offer nearly endless adventure opportunities for people of all ages.
Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas
The Ritz-Carlton in St. Thomas (U.S. Virgin Islands) boasts 180 guest rooms and suites, each with its own private balcony or terrace. The hotel is ideally situated along the strolling white-sand beaches of Great Bay, and is surrounded by four oceanfront restaurants.
Active families will love the many water sports made available via the full-service Aquatic Center as well as the natural wonders they’ll be introduced to with Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ambassadors of the Environment program (suited for children and adults).
The Ritz-Carlton also features a fitness center, pool, spa, and many other children’s programs.
All Virtuoso guests will receive:
- An upgrade on arrival, subject to availability
- Daily buffet breakfast, for up to two in-room guests

Grace Bay Club, Turks and Caicos Islands
The Grace Bay Club is the first luxury all-suite resort in Turks & Caicos and is the perfect location for uninterrupted relaxation. All of its suites look out toward the ocean, as well as the resort’s 1,100 feet of unending beachfront access (the largest in all of Turks & Caicos).
Families looking for a little seclusion will love the hotel’s unique 3-section design. Alongside an adults-only area and uber-luxe estate, Grace Bay Club features family-friendly villas (with their own restaurant, bar and pool).
Of course, if your preference is a private home, you can book your stay at The Residences which is a luxury beachfront micro-resort with four-and-five bedroom private homes.
Grace Bay Club also features a fitness center, pool, spa and golfing.
